Withings has been making fitness trackers and activity trackers for some time, and the company's recent acquisition by Nokia means that Withings will play a greater role in the Internet of Things (IoT) and the mobile space than ever before. Nokia is also looking to re-enter the mobile scene after losing its mobile division to Microsoft -- who then laid off the majority of the same mobile division it acquired.
Now, Withings has been known for its Activité Pop and Activité Steel fitness trackers, but the company makes other devices as well. In any case, Nokia's desire to rise to the preeminence it once had has the company taking its new ownership of Withings globally. To this end, Withings has now expanded its reach to India, making its devices available on Amazon India.
Withings has started selling its devices to India citizens by way of Amazon India, with the company selling not only its fitness trackers but also its Aura Smart Sleep System, Pulse Ox, Wireless Blood Pressure Monitor, and Wi-Fi Security Camera. These devices range in price from $150-$400, though the Activité Sapphire costs around $522 USD and is its priciest product available for purchase.
Withings recently dropped the prices on its Activité Pop and Activité Steel fitness trackers, making them more affordable than ever. Of course, Withings devices have 8-month battery life but require you to exchange the battery every 8 months. These devices are not rechargeable (which is perhaps part of their budget-friendliness), but the battery is replaceable -- which gives them something akin to futureproofing.
India residents, prepare to enjoy Withings products in your country. Are you planning to pick up one of Withings new devices, now that you know they're available to order? If so, which devices do you look to buy?
