Android Wear now has its first luxury smartwatch with the TAG Heuer Connected Carrera, and one lucky buyer has already posted photos of the new smartwatch on one of the most popular social media platforms: Reddit.
Reddit member fintheman posted his pics on Reddit, leaving links for those who are dying to see the Connected Carrera smartwatch up close, outside of TAG’s poster photos. Often, what we see in presentation photos and the smartwatch’s appearance outside of posters and banners can be slightly different. “This is the unboxing at the Tag store on 5th Ave. The line was a little bit busy but I want to purchase it and they told me I was the second person to purchase one,” the member said.
The TAG Heuer Connected Carrera smartwatch photos show the black TAG Heuer bag, glass of wine (which fin says he received after purchasing the smartwatch), the box itself (once it’s out of the bag), the TAG Heuer smartwatch, accessories such as the charger, and, last but not least, the smartwatch itself. Fintheman poses for a wrist photo that shows how the Connected Carrera looks on his arm, with one of the push buttons to the right of the watch and the minute markings around the bezel of the device. Additional photos show the TAG symbol on the digital crown and on the wrist strap, as well as the charging unit (which has the TAG Heuer branding). The Connected Carrera has an illuminated backlight that helps you see the time in low-light situations.
The TAG Heuer Connected Carrera smartwatch comes with a 360 x 360p screen resolution, LCD screen that is protected by sapphire crystal, 1GB of RAM, 4GB of storage, runs Android Wear, and has a 410mAh battery. According to early testers, the Connected Carrera can last up to 25 hours on a single charge, placing the device ahead of the Apple Watch (18 hours) and in the same circle as the Android Wear manufacturers (24-36 hours). The 25-hour battery life, however, is still under the 2-4-day battery life of Samsung’s Gear S and now Gear S2.
What do you think of the new TAG Heuer Connected Carrera according to these new photos? Are you interested in buying one? Do you think it will last two years? Do you intend to keep the Connected Carrera for more than 2 years?
