The Sony Smartband 2 has received a new update this week that allows you to have both heart rate monitor functionality and activity reminders to keep you moving. Sony's new SmartBand 2 lets you know when you've been sitting for too long. For sedentary individuals whose job(s) encourages the sitting lifestyle, Sony's SmartBand 2 will remind you to get up and walk and exercise.
Aside from exercise reminders, you can expect to use your SmartBand 2 as a heart rate monitor -- provided you download a third-party heart rate monitor app to go with it. You can set notifications to bring low, small vibrations instead of wrist-shattering buzzes to remind you about important dates and agendas. When your SmartBand 2 gets low, the "Stamina Mode" will kick in whereby you can conserve battery life. Samsung's Gear S2 also does this at 15% battery remaining, as can Android Wear smartwatches such as the Motorola Moto 360 and LG Watch Urbane, among others.
The update is now available, so head on over to the Google Play Store and grab it. If you want to see what the SmartBand 2 update will offer, you can head here.
