The Gear S2 is now 9 months old, but it is by far Samsung's best smartwatch to date. Samsung made a bold entrance into the circular smartwatch race, with a device that features its signature AMOLED display, wireless charging (which places the Gear S2 in the same camp as the Motorola Moto 360), and the world-first rotating bezel that is reminiscent of old divers' watches from the 1930s, 40s, and 50s. The Gear S2 runs Samsung's own homegrown OS, Tizen, which is growing in popularity (pay attention to the 3 million Tizen smartphones Samsung sold in 2015).
We know that some of you in our readership would love to purchase this smartwatch but have been turned off by the $350 price tag. Finally, after so many months, the Gear S2 has now been discounted from $349.99 down to $164.48, a 54% price reduction. If the Gear S2's price tag kept you away, you may want to give Samsung's first circular smartwatch a second look.
The Samsung Gear S2 features a 1.2-inch, circular display, 360 x 360p screen resolution, 4GB of storage, 512MB of RAM, and has IP68 water and dust resistance, alongside of a 300mAh battery that provides up to 2-4 days of battery life. The eBay seller, A4C, is an affiliate of Best Buy, as we've seen the retailer sell several tech gadgets in the past through eBay.
Of course, you can jump in and pick up this seller refurbished Gear S2 for $165, or you can wait until we see more of the Gear S3. We don't blame you if you think before jumping on this purchase.
While the Gear S2 is the reigning smartwatch, the Korean giant will announce the Gear S3 (codenamed Solis) in September, with Samsung partnering with De GRISOGONO to make a luxury model that will be announced in Spring 2017. The latest Gear S3 images confirm as much.
