The Gear S2 is the best smartwatch on the market (pardon the Apple Watch claims of greatness), but some have such a high fashion sense that even the Gear S2 doesn't quite do it for them -- despite Samsung's announcement at IFA 2015 that the Korean giant had partnered with fashion designer Mendini for not only Gear S2 wristbands but also watch faces. For those who want the functionality of a smartwatch but long for something more, Samsung and GRISOGONO have teamed up to offer the Samsung Gear S2 by de GRISOGONO.
What makes the Gear S2 by de GRISOGONO so special is not the 4GB of storage, the 512MB of RAM, or the 1.2-inch, circular Super AMOLED display (you can find this in the Original and Classic Gear S2 models), but also the fact that this new smartwatch is covered in 56 white diamonds (at 1.2 carats) and 71 black diamonds (at 1.8 carats). It comes in a rose gold finish, so prepare to rock that "pink gold" if you buy this.
You still have all the functionality of the Gear S2, but this may appeal to those who also prefer Samsung's Rose Gold and Platinum Gear S2 models the company revealed at CES 2016.
Some just have preferences, and there's nothing wrong with that, but at the same time, we can't play this up to be any better than what it is: it's not a Gear S3 with added functionality, it's not even a Gear S2 Plus. It's just a diamond-studded Gear S2 -- for better or worse.
