The Samsung Gear Fit2 now has a manual out in the wild, but the Korean giant is gearing up for the official unveil with this leaked manual. Now, we've received word regarding the full specifications for the Gear Fit2 that comes to us courtesy of reliable Samsung source SamMobile.
The Samsung source says that the Gear Fit2 is Samsung's first fitness tracker since 2014, and that the upcoming device will launch with some updated specs from a few days ago. The Gear Fit2 will feature a 1.55-inch, curved Super AMOLED display with a screen resolution of 216 x 432p, a 1Ghz dual-core processor (an Exynos processor belonging to Samsung here) with 512MB of RAM, 2GB of storage (not 4GB, as has been the case in previous models) and IP68 certified water and dust resistance. A 200mAh battery is housed under the hood, and the Gear Fit2 will run Tizen 2.3 out of the box. Tizen has far better battery efficiency than Android, with even the 300mAh battery in the Gear S2 delivering 2-4 days of battery life on a single charge. With that said, you shouldn't worry about bad battery life because of the low mAh on this one; you've got to experience Tizen to believe it.
Samsung has a New York announcement planned for tomorrow, June 2nd, at 5PM EDT, so we're expecting the Gear Fit2, among other devices, to make an official appearance there. Of course, other devices such as the upcoming Galaxy S7 Active (with its June 10th launch date) could arrive, but we'll have to wait until Samsung's big announcement before we give away all the details.
