Moto 360 Review: This Smartwatch Is Fashionable
Smartwatches have been around for a while but in my opinion they were never very fashionable. And while the Apple Watch looks nice, I have an Android phone and it’s not compatible — at least not yet. Motorola just released their 2nd generation Moto 360 and they have a smaller size for women, so I figure I’d give it a try. Turns out it’s actually pretty awesome, my first week with it and I’m already finding it useful. So I wanted to enlighten any ladies out there thinking about getting one or putting it on their holiday wish list.
First and most importantly, THE LOOK! I have my Moto in Rose Gold with the Blush Leather band but if you order yours through Moto Maker on the Motorola site, you can fully customize your watch case and band choice, including metal bands — which I would love! So, I’ve had my watch for about a week and have received TONS of compliments — not only about the look, but also the fact that it’s a smartwatch in general. Unlike the Apple Watch, the Moto 360 is round which makes it look more like a real watch. Luckily for all you iPhone owners, the Moto 360 is actually compatible with the iPhone too! Another thing I like about the look is that you can change the faces, which are also customizable. This watch also has quick release bands, giving you the option to change them yourself!
One of the features I use most in the watch is Moto Body, which comes standard with Android Wear. It records my steps, heart rate, and gives you a personal goal after it’s calculated your physical activity averages! I do a lot of hiking so I love that feature! There’s also a hiking and trail app you can download from Android Wear.
Something that’s also convenient is the ability to change your music directly from the watch, which makes it easy for driving and when you don’t have the phone on you.
But the single most important app you can get on this watch is one that delivers pizza. The Domino's App for Android Wear is a good example of companies taking their apps to the next level. Besides, any device that brings food straight to your door is sure to be a favorite of mine.
Overall I would definitely recommend the Moto 360 as a lady friendly device. There are obviously more apps I need to explore such as Groupon and Pinterest, and figure out whether or not the notifications on my wrist will become useful or too cumbersome. But so far so good, excited to have this new gadget in my life!
