Verizon customers, I have a great deal in store for you today. Yes, it's likely you've been a faithful part of our readership here at Smartwatch.me; if you have, you've been reading about a number of Gear S2 deals that we've covered: Best Buy, eBay seller A4C, AT&T and its Buy One, Get One Free deal, among others. The Gear S2 is one of the most beloved smartwatches on the market, so it's understandable that we've worked hard to get these deals to you. And yet, we realize that the deals often get better every day, which brings us to today's deal: you can pick up a 3G-connected Gear S2 with Verizon Wireless for 67% off -- which brings the price down from the original retail price of $299.99 to $99.99.
The Gear S2 features a circular AMOLED display, two rubber wristbands in the box (at least that seems to be what a Verizon Gear S2 unboxing shows), along with the circular on-screen icons (Rotary UI) and a rotating bezel. Samsung has also crafted a Gear S2 Classic as well, but this is more of a Gear S2 Sport model for those who want an active smartwatch that lets you sweat and workout without worry. The Gear S2 does have 3G support, so you'll need to follow the steps on the watch to get 3G cellular data service (for which you can expect to pay an extra $5, plus state and local taxes for the service). You don't have to enable 3G data on the watch, since, sans 3G data, the Gear S2 Sport can still connect to Bluetooth and WiFi.
EBay seller guaranteecellular has a 97.5% feedback, which is quite acceptable for a top-notch seller over at the retail website. The eBay seller says that the estimated time of delivery will occur between August 27th and September 1st, so you won't have to wait long.
I picked up the Gear S2 back in December, when the price was still at $349.99 for the 3G/4G model. Now, you're getting this watch for two-thirds less than what I paid for it. I'd say that, even if you don't want service now, you're still getting WiFi and Bluetooth capabilities for just $99.99. It's a good deal, even if you still want to wait to see what the Gear S3 Explorer, Gear S3 Classic, and Gear S3 Frontier will bring on August 31st when Samsung unveils its next-generation Gear smartwatch collection. If the Gear S2 bags an internal design award in 2016, imagine what awards the Gear S3 will win in 2017.
