Fitness shoemaker New Balance is known for other sports products as well, but chances are you’ve likely been out at a shoe outlet and seen a pair of New Balances on sale. Well, we’re talking about that company. The company announced recently that it intends to create a Digital Sport division to release its very own first smartwatch around the 2016 Christmas season. There are no details on the New Balance smartwatch at this time, but we do know two things about it.
First, New Balance says that the New Balance smartwatch will run Android Wear, Google’s wrist wearable platform, and that the new wristwatch will be made and designed for runners in mind. The company hopes to create a social media network around runners that allows diehards to share their daily runs, goals completed, and other information that they’d find useful. Last but not least, yes, you read it right: the New Balance smartwatch is set to debut at Christmas. If New Balance sticks to its word, fitness enthusiasts will have something to shout (or run…or walk…) about!
Are you a diehard fitness trainer, guru, or enthusiast excited to see what New Balance will bring to the table?
