Microsoft is committed to making its Band 2 one of the most sought-after fitness bands in the business, and the company's latest update to the Band 2 brings some much-desired customization to what is becoming an excellent device. There aren't many new feature additions in the new update, but the ones the Band 2 gets are stellar in their own right.
First, the Microsoft Band 2 brings more tiles for activities, which we assume you'll use primarily for fitness, social media, and other such actions. Next on the list is greater notification control that now allows you to decide which notifications to allow on your wrist (no longer will all apps lead to all notifications buzzing you). Last but not least, the Microsoft Health app becomes more "challenging," but in a good way: you'll get to accomplish more challenges within fitness goals, win achievements, and brag about them with your friends and family on social media in order to motivate them. With the summer coming, this will prove an effective motivator for some to get outside and get moving. All the typical apps you're used to seeing notifications from now have more text shown on-screen so that it's easier to read notifications from your wrist without picking up your phone each time.
If you have a Microsoft Band 2, now's the time to visit Microsoft's Health app and prepare to update it before receiving the new Band 2 update.
Let us know. Have you received the new Band 2 update? Like the new changes? Are there others you'd wish Microsoft would bring to the Band 2, or do you have your eye set on another smart fitness band?
