LG’s Watch Urbane was the first smartwatch the Korean manufacturer produced that could compete with the likes of Motorola’s Moto 360. After all, the G Watch R was LG’s first experiment with circular smartwatches and, despite being well made, wasn’t exactly a win for some. It’s a rugged smartwatch, designed for those who like to hike, camp, fish, and enjoy the elements. At the same time, however, its rugged, element-resistant nature didn’t exactly win it brownie points with those who crave a formal smartwatch or something close to it.
The LG Watch Urbane is acceptable in terms of formal appeal, one of the reasons being that both the male and female wrist can sport it. There is no “male” and “female” Watch Urbane, though LG did produce a rose gold color option for it. The device was formerly at a minimum of $250, but you can now pick up [the best LG Android Wear smartwatch][1] for just $199.99. The specs match what you’ve seen with the rest of the Android Wear lineup, though the battery in the Watch Urbane is somewhat larger than most other Android Wear rivals. This is a deal if you consider that the Watch Urbane is $150 off, from its original price tag of $349.99.
The G Watch Urbane has the same software experience as its rivals, though, so it’s a matter of “pick the prettiest of them all.” I’m not sure that warrants a smartwatch for $200; in fact, 99% of all Android Wear smartwatches should have had nothing above a $199.99 price tag at launch – with a 50% off price deal going now, but there’s nothing we can do about it, now can we?
The LG Watch Urbane comes in gold and silver color options, with free shipping. If you order it now, you can expect it to arrive at your door between January 26th and February 2nd.
At the same time, perhaps $200 is the perfect price for you. If so, you can now jump in. Although, we do think you could save $100 a month for the next 3 months and get a newer model, but your financial circumstances could change between now and then.
