HP is no stranger to partnerships for the sake of creating smartwatches with design appeal, as the company teamed up with fashion designer Isaac Mizrahi earlier this year for a Swarovski-crystal-encrusted analog smartwatch, but the company is eager to do more to make a name for itself in the wearables space. The solution to this goal is to continue striking alliances with companies that can make it happen. HP's latest move involves teaming up with Movado Group to create a line of smart analog watches bearing brand names such as "Coach," "Hugo Boss," "Ferrari," "Tommy Hilfiger," and "Juicy Couture."
This line of watches running on HP's smart platform will come with water resistance, smart features such as LED lights, vibration, and notifications for calls, texts, emails, social media updates, and calendar reminders. The Juicy Couture smart analog watches will implement the LED notification light, while all other brand name watches will have screens (probably OLED for great battery life). This smart analog watch collection will provide between 5-7 days of battery life and range in price between $195 and $325.
If you're interested in this new lineup of smart analog watches, you can expect to see these arrive at HP.com on Thursday, October 27th as well as retailers such as Macy's (who'll also have the Apple Watch 2 on sale this Fall, too) and Nordstrom.
Do these HP/Movado smart analog watches sound interesting? Are you more interested in these than typical smartwatches such as the Gear S2 and the Apple Watch?
