We've talked about the September 1st announcement at IFA 2016 for the Gear S3, Samsung's seventh smartwatch (the successor to the first-gen. Galaxy Gear, Gear 2, Gear 2 Neo, Gear S, Gear S2 Sport, Gear S2 Classic), and it appeared as though Samsung would announce the smartwatch on September 1st, the day before IFA commences. The Korean giant has spoken on the matter, with its own announcement that the Gear S3 will be unveiled on August 31st.
Via Samsung's website, the company published its Talk About 3 teaser with a date in small print at the bottom. In case you're like me and can't read anything in tiny print (I'm visually challenged and need reading glasses), Samsung provides it in larger black print: "31st August (Wed) 18:00 CET (Door open 16:30)
Venue: Tempodrom, Berlin, Germany (Address: MockernstraBe 10, 10963 Berlin, Germany)"
The CET, for those who may not know, is Central European Time, so to find out when the announcement will be available for you, convert CET to EST, for example. 18:00 CET = 1PM EST Wednesday, August 31st. You'll also be able to watch the live stream of the announcement on samsung.com/galaxy or at Samsung Mobile's YouTube channel for those who're wondering.
As we've said time and time again, we expect to see the Gear S3 Frontier and Gear S3 Classic, but the Gear S3 Explorer name has been tossed about with other renown tech sources, leading us to also expect a third smartwatch to appear. After all, if we want to "talk about 3," three smartwatches will do the trick.
