AT&T is known for its deals on Samsung Galaxy smartphones. Samsung's devices are some of the very best to own within Android and Samsung Galaxy smartphones sell well at AT&T and the other 3 major US carriers (you can count US Cellular as a fifth US carrier that sees its share of Samsung Galaxy sales). The company had a deal in Christmas 2015 that allowed consumers to buy a Samsung Galaxy smartphone and get a free 3G-connected Gear S2 that would require AT&T's NumberSync $10 monthly plan. It's been a few months, but AT&T is back with a deal that may be just as sweet, if not more, than the first from a few months ago.
What are the terms of the new deal? If you take advantage of AT&T's Buy One, Get One Free (BOGO) deal, you get a free 3G-connected Gear S2. Now, it stands to reason that $350 off for the purchase of one phone may not prove to be a good deal for some. Some consumers may just find that Samsung Galaxy smartphones aren't their cup of tea and would rather purchase some other smartphone instead. AT&T has you covered: the same deal for Samsung is the same deal for LG smartphones and Android Wear smartwatches such as the LG Watch Urbane and Watch Urbane LTE. So, you need not buy only Samsung to take advantage of the BOGO deal with your wireless carrier.
Some, though, will view this deal as a win because you get one phone free. Now, as for the free Samsung Galaxy smartphone (let's say the Galaxy S7 edge because it's the sexiest smartphone on the market currently), you'll likely receive a phone credit each month for the cost of the second phone but will still pay on the first Galaxy smartphone and then the monthly data and line bill atop of that. But, for a couple who wants to have Galaxy smartphones and could use the free Gear S2, then this deal is perfect.
Now that we've got your mouth salivating for this AT&T BOGO deal, you also need to know that the BOGO/free Gear S2 deal is available for the Samsung Galaxy Note 5, Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 edge, Galaxy S6 Active, the Galaxy S7, and the Galaxy S7 edge. There's no Galaxy S7 Active mentioned here, and you may want to talk with AT&T about it if you want the S7 Active for your BOGO phone. Keep in mind that if you select one Samsung Galaxy smartphone, you must get the same phone for the "free" phone in the BOGO deal (you can't mix and match phones, say, get a Samsung Galaxy smartphone and an LG V10 or G5, for example).
The Gear S2 has some things that make it stand out: 1) a Super AMOLED display with nice, saturated colors and deep blacks that make staring at it dreamy, 2) a rotating bezel that provides a whole new way to navigate and interact with smartwatches (apart from simple swipes in various directions), and with Samsung making the smartwatch more phone-free than its ever been, the Gear S2 will be an easy sell over its staunchest competitors (we're looking at you here, Apple Watch!).
The deal starts today, Friday, July 15th, and lasts until August 31st. You have a little time, but the sooner you get the phones in your hands, the sooner you get the fun on your wrist.
