Fossil has been something of a bold company as of late, from launching its first smartwatch, to buying up fitness wearable company Misfit, Fossil is in the smartwatch and wearables market to stay. We’ve known that Fossil’s new Q Founder smartwatch runs Android Wear (Google’s wearables platform), but we didn’t know if Google would carry the smartwatch or not.
Now, it seems as though Google is adopting the Q Founder as part of the Android Wear smartwatch family, with the search engine giant listing the Q Founder smartwatch as “Coming Soon” at the Google Store. Of course, the price remains at $275 and hasn’t changed.
As a refresher, those who intend to pick up the Fossil Q Founder will notice its 1.5-inch circular LCD screen with a 360 x 326 screen resolution (pixel density: 240ppi), an Intel Atom processor, 1GB of RAM, 4GB of storage, a 400mAh battery that provides a full day of mixed use, IP67 water and dust resistance, along with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.1 LE (Low-Energy). Fossil has its own notification system setup, which makes the Q Founder stand out from its Android Wear competition. We recommend the Q Founder because of its notifications and fitness activity originality, as well as its price (which is $125 cheaper than the $400 Huawei Watch).
