Yeah, replace the band at your own risk. The round edge of the plastic back does not play well with bands with links smaller than that edge. I'm sticking with my Pebble band until I get my 20mm Super Engineer II. It has enough clearance for the curved plastic and won't cause the cracking. It's already started on mine, I frankly don't mind since it is on the back, but I don't want it to get worse. I've put an ultra clear matte body skin on it from Phantom Skinz for a start, which is a super cheap way to protect your investment, but probably does little to prevent the pressure from metal links pressing against it to crack it. Granted if you're not willing to shell out $72.99US for a watch band that won't crack the back, maybe rock the leather until Motorola releases theirs. But I don't think it would be likely they would charge less than the Super Engineer, which is a seriously beautiful high end watch band and Moto's will probably be just ok. According to guys who have tried it, the 22mm while fitting snuggly, does not leave any room to insert a tool to actually secure the band to the watch. Why they recommend the 20mm.
