Apple made it clear that the Apple Watch is designed to do two things: 1) look great and be, like your iPhone, a personal expression of yourself, and 2) get you moving. Fitness has become a big reason behind wearables, although it could be said that Cupertino hopes its smartwatch will appeal to more than fashion and fitness gurus. At the same time, however, fitness is a goal behind smartwatches and smart fitness bands: the whole goal of the new wrist wearable is to get you out of your seat and moving in order to lead a more healthy lifestyle. An employee or employer whose job is sedentary can quickly pack on the pounds – which can lead to health complications and illnesses later in life. Getting up and moving, even for 20 or 30 minutes a day, can extend your life.
In that regard, one of Apple’s latest promos for the Apple Watch reminds you that you need a more active lifestyle; to accomplish this goal, the Apple Watch is a valuable tool. The woman in the promo looks at her Apple Watch to see that she should “get moving” and reach her fitness goal, and she does: she starts jumping around, exercising, then starts running.
Of course, the promo isn’t meant to say much, but it shows how mobile the smartwatch is and how useful it can be in your daily workout. Never before has there been a tech gadget so thin, light, and compact that travels with you with ease than the smartwatch. The device promises theme parks of fun, but you have to get up off the couch and go buy one at your local Apple Store right now.
If you already have one, good; it’s time to get up and get moving. Watch the Move promo later.
