The Apple Watch has seen its share of store credits for stores like Target, but with word about a first-gen. Apple Watch refresh on the way, we’re starting to see permanent price cuts (or at least more regular price cuts, whether or not they’re permanent). Such is the case with the latest Target deal, [bringing the price of the Apple Watch Sport down $100] to as low as $250 and the Apple Watch intermediate smartwatch model down from $400-$600 to $300-$500.
Just to give you an idea of what you’re looking at with regard to price, the Space Gray 42mm Apple Watch Sport will cost $299 (down from $399); the 42mm Rose Gold Apple Watch Sport will cost $299 (down from $399); The 38mm Apple Watch Stainless Steel model costs $449 (down from $549); and the Apple Watch with Milanese Loop (42mm) costs $599 instead of the pre-deal $699.
The Apple Watch refresh for the first-gen. model is expected to be announced next month, but it will likely bring a new FaceTime camera, some new wristbands, and perhaps some new watch faces (but nothing more), so we don’t see why you shouldn’t jump on this opportunity to get an Apple Watch if you’ve been waiting. If you’re planning to get something closer to the holidays, though, good things can come to those who wait.
Target is giving a good deal on this, since this deal gives an automatic $100 off the retail price instead of giving a store credit that you can only use in-store. It’s the best deal on the Apple Watch we’ve seen so far, though we’re sure to find bigger and better deals as all things lead up to the Apple Watch 2 announcement in September.
