The first-gen. Apple Watch refresh that was rumored happened as planned, and pre-orders have been in swing. The original date to ship the new smartwatches from Apple was set for Friday, September 16th, but those ordering Apple Watch Series 1 (the new updated Apple Watch with a new dual-core processor) are finding their shipments delayed right alongside of their Apple Watch 2 buyer brethren.
A report from CNET says that Apple Watch 1 Series buyers at Best Buy will have to wait until September 21st to get their smartwatches, with a $20 credit for their troubles. Target is having the same level of pre-order shipment delays, with the company giving away a $50 credit for each impacted customer. Best Buy is giving a $50 credit for Apple Watch 2 buyers who haven't yet received their pre-order shipments. The Apple Watch 1 Series has been discounted from $349 to $269, with the Apple Watch 2 starting at $369 ($20 more than Apple Watch 1 last year).
Are you one of the affected customers? Which Apple Watch did you get (1 or 2), and why did you pick it? Have you received an email from Target or Best Buy about your Apple Watch shipment? Feel free to let us know.
