Google unveiled Google Prompt back in mid-June, a feature that alerts your smartphone when a sign-in is needed rather than send an SMS code, but it was only for Android smartphones at the time. Now, though, the word is that Google Prompt has started appearing on Android Wear smartwatches.
The claim comes from some readers over at Android Police, an Android tech site that covers all things Android. "Some of our readers are reporting that the above notification now appears on Android Wear devices connected to their 2FA-approved phone, allowing them to approve or deny login attempts without reaching for their phone," the site says.
Of course, having Google Prompt on the wrist is more convenient than having it on your phone, which for many, can be in a pocket or bag. I usually keep my smartphones in a bag wherever I travel, with my smartwatch being the closest mobile device to my fingers.
In any case, let us know if your Android Wear smartwatch is showing the same. You can learn how to set up Google Prompt on your smartphone by reading this how-to.
