Motorola’s second-generation Moto 360 Android Wear smartwatch is still, even in its second-generation, one of the finest smartwatches on the market. Motorola had a winning formula with the first-generation smartwatch (despite the infamous flat tire at the bottom of the display), and the company is now back with its second-generation Android Wear smartwatch. Finally, the accessories are starting to arrive for the device. If you’re up for a charging dock, Motorola’s second-generation Moto 360 charging dock is now available for purchase at the Google Store.
The charging dock is a wireless charging device for your Moto 360 smartwatch, so it will become an instant favorite. Wireless charging frees you from relying on wires and wall outlets when trying to “juice up” your devices. Few smartwatches have actually adhered to this trend (even fewer smartphones), but Motorola’s wireless charging is futureproof here. Samsung’s Gear S2 is the first Samsung smartwatch to follow Motorola’s trend, but it runs Tizen (not Android Wear).
Shipping will come free with the device, and it should leave the warehouse after 1-2 days.
It’s been said that $40 [is a bit “spendy” for some budgets][1], but $40 for a charger you’ll use again and again is a small price to pay (and it’s the same price as the charging dock for the first-gen. model). Battery cases for smartphones cost around $100 outright (I’m thinking Mophie Juice Packs for devices such as the Galaxy S series, for example), and tend to be fleeting as compared to this Moto 360 charging dock. So, with that said, you’re getting the most for your money. As with your calendar, the second-gen. Moto 360 charging dock will allow you to “set it and forget it.”
You can head on over to the Google Store to pick up your charging dock.
